It might look like your bog-standard piece of swimwear, but this is actually the brainchild of US-based designer Andrew Schneider, who crafted the bikini using photo-voltaic panels sewn together with conductive thread.
The Solar Bikini allows the wearer to plug in an iPod or camera to USB sockets sewn into the fabric, meaning you'll never run out of battery life on the beach again.
Every bikini is made to measure and takes an impressive 80 hours to hand-stitch, but surprisingly, it'll only set you back at about USD 200 to get your hands on one - no more expensive than any designer swimwear on the market.
Women can still go into the sea in the bikini, so long as they unplug all appliances and dry the USB ports thoroughly before charging anything again.
Men won't feel too envious of the solar-powered bikini charger for long, as Mr Schneider is working on the creation of a piece of male swimwear - the iDrink - which will be able to cool a single beer can on the beach.
