Polish photographer Maciej Dakowicz, 34, has been capturing nocturnal scenes in Cardiff where he was previously a student for the past five years. Here is 3 of his photos collection.
First collection: Cardiff After Dark
St Mary street is one of the main streets of central Cardiff, the capital city of Wales. It is one of the hubs of clubs and pubs in the city. Sooner or later most party goers end up on that street. The street is closed for cars on Saturday nights and becomes the main scene of the city night life, fuelled by alcohol and emotions. Everything takes place in public from drinking, fighting, kissing to crying and sleeping. Supermen chat up Playboy Bunnies, somebody lies on the pavement taking a nap, the hungry ones finish their portions of chips and the policemen stop another fight. Nobody seems to worry about tomorrow, what matter is here and now. Then another week at work, until the next weekend.

Third collection: The Staff Club

At that time, the club was selected by the Cardiff branch of the Campaign for Real Ale as the club of the year and had about 6000 members, the vast majority employees and ex-employees of the city council. All attempts and hopes to reopen it failed and in the end of 2008, a year from its closure, the building was sold to a company that planned to open a trendy club or music venue there. It is 2011 and the building is still not being used, stands empty
