No 7 of the World's 50 most delicious foods. I'm not really a fan of Penang Laksa, but to be no 7 in the world is really nice. Laksa is a popular spicy noodle soup from the Peranakan culture, which is a merger of Chinese and Malay elements found in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.

Penang Laksa

A bowl of laksa in Malaysia is sold between RM 2.00 until RM 5.00. Extra cost for an additional fish to add more body, the price appears slightly on the high side but it is value for money.

There are two basic types of laksa. Curry laksa and asam laksa. Curry laksa is a coconut curry soup with noodles, while asam laksa is a sour fish soup with noodles.
