Journalist Jonathan Blundell snapped a photo of this aircraft house in Abuja, Nigeria in 2006. At first glance, you might thought this was a horrible plane crash. But it turns out this site was no accident.
The aircraft replica forms a portico above the front door of the building presiding over what appears to be a pleasant hillside villa. A door beneath the starboard wing likely provides access to a roof deck. Not a plane home in the true sense, this odd accessory nevertheless falls into the same category. For me, it is pretty ugly though.
At first I guess the owner is pilot. But it turn out that Said Jammal built their home in a shape of an airplane to honor his wife's love of travel.
